OFD collaborates with various offices to offer programs and services to faculty to enhance their research and scholarship.
Grantsmanship
OFD offers an annual "Creating a Grant Consciousness" workshop. This workshop features faculty who have had success in obtaining grants. You can also view our Spring 2011 workshop.
There are some new resources at UMass Boston to assist in finding and writing grants. ORSP hosts the Community of Science (COS) Funding Opportunities Database”. This database has funding opportunities for all disciplines despite its name.
Another database which is now available to you is the Foundation Directory Online. Healey Library also has a wiki with helpful links to “Find Funding and Publishing Opportunities.
In the near future we will announce some opportunities for help with writing grants.
Scholarly Writing
OFD collaborates with Brian Halley, Editor, University of Massachusetts Press, to offer workshops on publishing topics. Each fall semester we host the Publishing Advice Forum. You can access the Power Point presentation from this forum here.
