Anne Tolbert

Additional Information

Anne Tolbert is presently a faculty member in the Performing Arts Department at UMass Boston where she alternates teaching beginning Modern Dance and Understanding Dance, as well as Oral Communication in the Continuing Education division. She has previously taught at Wheaton College, Brandeis University, and the College of the Holy Cross. She is grateful to all her teachers, including Martha Graham, Mark Anthony, Merce Cunningham, Murray Louis, and Alwin Nikolais. Anne danced in the Alwin Nikolais Dance Theater, and has been a choreographer for the Boston Ballet, Concert Dance Company, and First Night/Boston as well as for the theater groups and special events. She is currently a performing member of Prometheus Elders Dance Ensemble.
