OLLI Scholar Maryann Nguyen is a third-year Ph.D. student from the Gerontology Department at UMass Boston. Her research is in the field of music related to the aging brain among other interests in gerontology. Since her first encounter with the topic when she heard a colleague present on the association between fractal theory and brain plasticity, she has been reading and researching this subject.
