Richard Pierce studied the World Religions at Yale. He is a Vietnam Veteran and has spent considerable time in East Asia studying Buddhism. His major academic field has been Judaism, and he studied and worked for some years with his teacher, Nobel Laureate Elie Wiesel. He is Pastor of the Riverside Church in Lawrence, Massachusetts.
