Roderick Gaskell is not an academic, a military or professional expert on either WWII or the Battle of Midway. He has read extensively about WWII, including over a dozen books on the Battle of Midway. Gaskell found this naval battle a particularly compelling story worth sharing with others. Gaskell is a private pilot and has always enjoyed aircraft. He completed his military obligation as a Reserve Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard. He is a founding partner and retired president of a 30-person environmental consulting firm. He has two undergraduate degrees and an MBA.
