Sarah Pearlman, a clinical psychologist and teacher, was an Associate Professor in the Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology at the University of Hartford. Her major research has addressed relationships between mothers and daughters, and her current book, Mother-Talk: Conversations with Mothers of Lesbian Daughters and FTM Transgender Children, was published by Demeter Press in 2012 She is the mother of one son and one daughter, and has five grandchildren. Alice Fisher, PhD, spent 15 years as a partner in a successful catering business. In previous careers, she worked in the public, non-profit, and academic sectors with populations ranging from lesbian mothers and gay fathers to refugees, immigrants, and disabled people. She was a founding board member of the Project on Women and Disability. She is the mother of two daughters and has five grandchildren.
