OLLI Scholar Whitney Gecker is a second year master's student in the Applied Sociology department at UMass Boston. She is particularly interested in topics of race, gender, sexuality, and class, along with how place alters and effects individuals' understanding of themselves and others.  She is currently teaching an undergraduate course in Sociology.
