As the central unit charged with coordinating research and sponsored programs at UMass Boston, the Office of Research & Sponsored Programs (ORSP) assists university faculty and staff with submitting proposals for external support of research, scholarship, education and training, and service/outreach activities to support the university's mission.

The ORSP strives to create, promote, and support a research rich environment at the university by assisting and supporting faculty and staff in identifying and securing externally funded grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements. Also, the ORSP provides leadership in the financial management of externally funded projects.
