Office of Research and Sponsored Programs

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) is the central unit responsible for assisting faculty, staff, and students with the submission of proposals for external (i.e., sponsored) funds for research, scholarship, education and training, and service/outreach activities to support UMass Boston's mission. Any proposal for external funds (grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements) must be submitted to the ORSP at least 5 business days prior to the sponsor's required deadline.

The ORSP also provides leadership in the financial management of sponsored funds.
