NSF Summary Information

The Recovery Act supplements NSF FY 2009 funding by $3 billion. The NSF currently has many highly rated proposals that it has not been able to fund. For this reason, the NSF plans to use the majority of the $2 billion available in Research and Research Related Activities for proposals that are already in house and will be reviewed and/or awarded prior to September 30, 2009.

Highlights

  • $2 billion for proposals that are already in house, and will be reviewed and/or awarded prior to September 30, 2009.
  • Math and Science Partnership program ($25 million)
  • Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program ($60 million)
  • Major Research Equipment and Facilities Construction Account ($400 million)
  • Academic Research Infrastructure (ARI) program ($200 million)
  • Science Masters program ($15 million)
  • Major Research Instrumentation Program (MRI) ($300 million)
  • The NSF currently anticipates that no other solicitations will be posted that are solely in response to the Recovery Act.
