Notes on Research Administration
On occasion, the vice provost for research and dean of graduate studies will publish "Notes" concerning complex issues in research administration. These Notes are designed to explain to the university community federal law, rules, and regulations concerning the management of sponsored programs, to interpret research-related policies of the University of Massachusetts and the University of Massachusetts Boston, to provide background information on university procedures and business processes, and to offer insights on the roles and functions of various offices at UMass Boston that are critical for the research enterprise.
