Financial Aid Appeal Procedure for Special Conditions
If you and your family have circumstances not addressed on the FAFSA or your circumstances have changed since the previous year, you may submit a request to have your application reviewed.
Listed below are examples of circumstances that may be considered in a Financial Aid Appeal:
- Loss of income
- Child care expenses
- Medical or dental expenses not covered by insurance
- Elementary and/or secondary educational expenses
To file a financial aid appeal, call FAS to request a Special Conditions Form. Submit the completed form along with the appropriate documentation to FAS.
When you file an appeal, thoroughly document your reason. Once the Financial Aid Appeal Committee reviews your appeal you will be notified of the outcome via written correspondence within 2 - 4 weeks. The decision of the Committee is final.
