Summer Term Financial Aid for Graduate Students
Financial Aid Available for the Summer Term
Stafford Loans and Alternative Loans are available for summer school. If you plan to attend summer school, you must:
- Have a complete financial aid file which includes:
- a processed FAFSA for the prior academic year that lists UMass Boston and has a valid EFC
- a Financial Aid Award Notification
- Complete the verification process, if selected for verification.
- You must visit the One Stop Student Administrative Services Center, with a copy of your summer registration, and request a Summer Clearance Form. You may enroll for classes during either session I or II, or divide them between sessions. You must register for at least 6 total credits for the summer to be eligible for Federal Direct Loans, PLUS Loans and certain Alternative Loans.
- Have completed the spring semester as a UMass Boston student in a degree or eligible certificate program.
- Have been in good academic standing in the prior award year. (See Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy). If you have a probationary appeal status in the prior year, you are not eligible for summer aid until your spring SAP has been reviewed.
