The Ronald E. McNair PostBaccalaureate Achievement Program
The McNair Program focuses on helping certain students go on to graduate
study. Two-thirds of its participants are low-income, first-generation
college students; one-third are undergraduate students from groups under-represented
in graduate education. Participants are encouraged to pursue doctoral
studies in science and math-related fields. Eligible students majoring
in anthropology, biology, chemistry, computer science, earth and geographic
science, mathematics, physics, or psychology participate in supervised
research and scholarly activities.
McNair participants may also benefit from support groups, counseling,
and a variety of educational and social activities. Visitors are welcome;
application forms and appointments are available.
