idil and a studentUMass Boston is a public, urban, commuter University, located three miles south of downtown Boston. As a commuter school, we have NO residence halls or any other forms of housing. Thus, to assist prospective and currently enrolled students and members of the University community in locating a place to live, the Office of Student Housing (OSH) is pleased to welcome you to the Boston area and our staff look forward to helping you find a place to call home.

At UMass Boston you will find a whole new world of social and academic possibilities, exciting journeys, and lasting friendships. Where you choose to live will affect your total UMass Boston experience.

  • We invite our neighbors in Boston’s surrounding communities, as well as members of the university community to list their rental properties on our new Housing Registry Database. This system provides you the opportunity to list, update, and remove your rentals at your convenience.
  • Roommate matching services are available for UMass Boston students only. Fill out our roommate matching form online.
  • For your reference, you may also want to view a list of Questions to Ask potential roommates or landlords.
