:: On Campus

Eat in the Cafeteria

Not like you should have to have an excuse, but "meal time" provides the perfect opportunity to stick around campus and meet fellow students; it is as simple as waltzing into the cafeteria or one UMB’s snack stops. Refrain from the urge to eat and run by walking up to a table of one or two students and ask to join. No one suggesting that you sit on top of them and attack them with friendliness, the suggestion is to merely take a seat diagonally across from your new friend and introduce yourself politely. Be sure to take it easy with the Q&A as you don't want to look like the "Riddler" and remember people like to discuss their favorite subject - themselves! campus_cafe

The more time you spend in unfamiliar settings, and the more practice you gain introducing yourself to strangers, the more comfortable you  will become and the better your college experience at UMass Boston will be! BE BRAVE – SAY HELLO!
