Love Your Major

It is no use investing your time, effort and money into a subject you dread. As a freshman, it’s suggested one study Liberal Arts or what we like to call "Most Transferable" because students more often than not change their direction of study twenty times before they figure out what they "want to be when you grow up." campus_bookstore

Liberal Arts courses such as English Composition 1 & 2 along with World/Western Civilization have the ability to parallel into almost any educational direction and will never  be a waste of one’s efforts.

In the time before you make the decision to commit to a major, investigate different departments and speak to faculty advisors. Again you are at UMass Boston to better your future - faculty and staff love nothing more than assisting students towards making their dreams realities; ask questions and you will receive answers!
