Dear Donors to the UMass Boston Fund:
I am a first degree adult student at the College of Nursing at UMass Boston. I intend to earn a bachelor’s of science in nursing and become a registered nurse after completing this program in 2010. I am so excited by all that I am learning and have a real desire to excel.
I hope to use my life experience, compassion, and education to care for others when I am a nurse. I am also interested in advancing academically and professionally by enrolling in graduate school. Nursing research and possibly teaching are intriguing careers for me.
I am so appreciative of the financial assistance your scholarship provides. I rely fully on grants and loans to afford school at this time. Therefore, your gift will help me tremendously to focus on my classes and allow me consider volunteer opportunities in community healthcare as I begin my clinical studies at Spaulding Rehabilitation Center in Boston.
