Urban Scholars Impact On Me

Urban Scholars is helping me prepare for college and the future by letting me experience classes I haven’t taken before. I am getting a lot of help in math. I used to get B’s in math, but since joining Urban Scholars I have been making honor roll. Urban Scholars has also helped me in writing and using correct grammar which is important for writing papers. I also get to take classes on an actual college campus at UMass Boston which is showing me exactly what my experiences will be when I go to college.

Being Part of 25 Years of History

Being part of this 25-year history is a great feeling. Through working on this website, I have been able to see what Urban Scholars was and who started the program. What impressed me the most was that the program started with just 15 people. Interviewing Dr. Charles Desmond showed me what the program was like a long time ago, and I enjoyed being one of the first students to document this history at UMass Boston.

My Dream

My plans for the future are to finish high school and college then go to law school. I want to be a lawyer because I like the law and am interested in learning more about it. I want to be involved in making Massachusetts laws that help benefit every person in the state. I also want to be a professional DJ.
