Opening the Door for Talent
The mission of Urban Scholars is simple: to provide academically talented students with the skills and motivation necessary for achievement at the highest level of their potential.
Last fall, a small group of current students, had the opportunity to see how this mission has been lived out over the past quarter century by becoming program historians. They delved into documents, photos, and news clips and talked to the people who created and supported Urban Scholars along the way.
Their talk show, UrbanNet, during which they interview program co-founder Charlie Desmond, illustrates what they learned about how pursuing a dream can transform lives and society.
