UMass Boston and the region's seven other research universities drive the social and economic development of the Boston region, collectively contributing a $7.4 billion boost to the economy of Greater Boston, according to a report titled "Engines of Economic Growth." Through the Venture Development Center, UMass Boston will enhance entrepreneurial talent generation and business innovation in the communities we serve.
