Web Accessibility and Usability

Accessibility for All

This web site is a collection of resources that have been gathered from around the internet in an effort to provide a gateway for publishers of educational media.

So often web pages are published without much concern for the end user. Issues such as bandwidth, processing speed and physical differences make accessing online content a very challenging and sometimes frustrating experience for users. As a publisher of web content, you must consider the issues that face your audience before launching into a project.

Considering audience needs is a natural step in many types of projects and it is only natural to create course content in the same manner. The resources on this site will help you to produce documents for the web in a way that gives students more opportunities to access your content and enjoy the benefits of your class.

We ask that you browse through the topics listed on the left and think about how you might apply some of the concepts to your work. Creating accessible content is creating content for everyone.
