UMass Boston at 50

UMass Boston celebrates its 50th anniversary with faculty, staff, and students at a Boston Red Sox game at Fenway Park

UMass Boston Anniversary Night at the Boston Red Sox

UMass Boston is in America's best college town, so it was only fitting that UMass Boston and Boston State College alumni kick off the university's 50th anniversary at one of America's best ballparks, Fenway Park. Alumni joined faculty, staff, and students for a 1-0 win over the Minnesota Twins on June 16, 2014. Before the game, Chancellor J. Keith Motley and his family were honored at home plate and on the jumbotron. UMass Boston's Department of Public Safety also took part in the pre-game ceremony. The Massachusetts Legislature passed the bill establishing UMass Boston exactly 50 years prior, on June 16, 1964.
