Matthew Hoffman teaches Psychopharmacology at the Plymouth Campus of the University of Massachusetts, Boston. He has worked in the alcohol and drug treatment field for over 20 years. He earned his master's in public health at the Boston University School of Public Health after graduating from the psychology program at UMass Boston.
Presently, Hoffman is the Clinical Director of the Highpoint BATC Clinical Support Services (CSS), a 32-bed step-down program fron detox. The program provides case management, referral and aftercare placement for alcoholics and addicts. He is the Treasurer of the Recovery Home Collaborative, an organization representing 40 residential programs in Massachusetts.
Hoffman is licensed by the state as an LADC I and certified as a Clinical Supervisor, a Professional in the treatment of Co-Occurring Disorders, a Gambling Training and Treatment Specialist and a CADAC II. He serves as a Public Member of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing’s Substance Abuse Recovery Program and conducts assessment for nurses who apply for admission to that program or experience relapse while participating.
