How to Register

Returning Students

If you are a matriculated UMass Boston student or have taken UMass Boston courses before, please use the WISER online self-service registration system.

Note for Fall and Spring Students: Matriculated UMass Boston students may be unable to use the WISER system to register for CAPS courses outside of their appointment period. In this instance, either use the shopping cart (see "Online Registration" under "New Students" below) or visit the One Stop Student Service Center, where registration staff can override the appointment date restriction.

New Students

If you are taking a UMass Boston course for the first time, you can use any of the following methods to register:

Online Registration
Students registering for the first time can submit their registration online using CAPS’s Shopping Cart System. Simply, click the "Add Course" button found to the right of each individual course listing. Learn more about registering via our Shopping Cart.

When your registration is processed, you will be given a user ID and password which you can then use to access WISER for future transactions. Please note: beginning on October 17, 2011, students will use their campus email user ID and password to log into WISER.
