General Education Professional Licensure, MEd & Certificate

  • All Professional Licensure programs are on hiatus at this time. We are not currently accepting applications for these programs. Any updates will be posted to this page should the programs become available at a later date.

M.Ed. for Professional Licensure is designed for those who already possess Initial Licensure to teach in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts but have not earned a Master’s degree before. The 18-credit Post-Master’s Certificate for Professional Licensure program is designed for those who already possess an Initial License and an advanced degree. Students may only pursue Professional Licensure in a field in which they already hold an Initial License.  The program consists of core courses concerning pedagogy related to the student’s level and field, graduate-level content related to the student’s level and field, and practitioner research courses.

We offer Professional Licensure in the following areas:

  •  Elementary 1-6 
  •  Middle School Humanities
  •  Middle School Math and Science
  •  Biology 5-8, 8-12
  •  Chemistry 5-8, 8-12
  •  English 5-8, 8-12
  •  History 5-8, 8-12
  •  Latin and Classical Humanities 5-12
  •  Mathematics 5-8, 8-12
  •  Physics 5-8, 8-12
  •  Spanish 5-12

*Please note that all  Professional Licensure programs of study are subject to modification due to changes in regulations from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education or university requirements.
