The College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) offers programs that include Bachelor of Arts degrees and minors in education for students who are interested in teaching as a career.
There is a BA in Early Education and Care in Inclusive Settings (EECIS) that offers students a choice of six concentration areas covering a wide range of career opportunities in the birth-8 field:
- infant toddler care and education
- early intervention
- preschool education and care
- youth and community outreach
- administration and supervision
- Pre-K-grade 2 licensure
UTeach is a streamlined teacher preparation for mathematics and science majors. The goals of the UTeach Program are to attract and retain more students into teaching careers, to graduate outstanding science and mathematics teachers who are masters of their discipline and know how to use technology to enhance learning and who can understand and involve students in project-based inquiry.
There is also a program for Liberal Arts majors leading to teacher licensure.
Regardless of which program students choose, our coursework provides a framework where students are well poised to affect change at the local, national, and international levels. Our programs set our graduates on the path to become strong leaders and agents of change in a democratic society through an emphasis on diversity, inclusion, and social justice.
