Francine Menashy, PhD
Assistant Professor, College of Education and Human Development
Francine Menashy’s research interests include aid to education and the implications of private sector engagement, with a focus on the policies and operations of international financial institutions. Prior to joining UMass Boston, she held a position as a post-doctoral research fellow at the Comparative, International and Development Education Centre at the University of Toronto. Her research has been funded by such sources as the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Innovation, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, and the Open Society Foundation. In the past she has worked with an NGO in Laos, and as a teacher in Canada. She holds a PhD from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto. Professor Menashy is cross-affiliated with the Department of Public Policy and Public Affairs at the McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies.
