Charles E. Drebing is currently the Associate Director of Mental Health for Psychosocial Rehabilitation and the Chief of Psychology at the Bedford VA Medical Center. He has been an investigator with the New England MIRECC since 1997 and is currently the Bedford Site Director for the New England MIRECC. Dr. Drebing has been conducting health services research of for the past 17 years, focusing much of his work on evaluating and enhancing vocational and residential services, investigating how consumer decisions impact access to services, and the role of family members in health care decisions. His work has contributed to a number of new service models and enhancements for veterans with mental health disorders, including supported self employment, contingency management for vocational rehabilitation, motivational interviewing interventions for employment, and peer-mediated supported education. He has published much of the existing literature on the VA’s CWT program and his on-going work seeks to support the roll-out of the VA supported education and peer support services.
