Patty Chouinard, MEd

Professor Chouinard has embraced teaching Spanish 101 Online. She is skilled at motivating her online students and exhibits strong organizational and time management skills. She is a member of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL), of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP), and of the Massachusetts Foreign Language Association (MaFLA). She has been a co-presenter at the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages conventions on the topic of online language acquisition. She is certified to teach Spanish by the Massachusetts Department of Education. Professor Chouinard traveled to Spain with Eduespaña to tour Spanish language learning centers for foreign students. Professor Chouinard was born in Mexico and was raised in both Mexico and Spain. She received her MEd and Certificate in the Teaching of Spanish from the University of Massachusetts Boston. She is currently pursuing an EdD in Leadership in Urban Schools at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Professor Chouinard joined the Latin American and Iberian Studies Department in the spring of 2005.
