A background in Modern Languages opens many doors for its graduates. The career paths some of our students have taken have lead them in a variety of different directions.

Some graduates of the department have gone on to complete MA and PhD work and currently teach in high schools and colleges. Others work in fields like business, banking or travel where their expertise in language and culture is a definite asset. A few have become translators or interpreters, and some have discovered unexpected career paths: professional chef and clothing designer, for instance.

Many students combine a language major with majors in business, economics and anthropology.
