Scholarships and Awards

Scholarships

  • The Knapp Scholarship in Political Science, given to a student for academic performance who has completed at least three political science courses.
  • The Roger Feinstein Memorial Scholarship for First-Generation College Students in Political Science, open to any student in the College of Liberal Arts.
  • The Rusty Simonds Award in Political Science, given to an outstanding junior or senior with an interest in political theory and in pursuing an advanced degree.
  • The Jalal Alamgir Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a promising junior interested in Democracy, Development and Social Justice with focus on the Global South.

Graduation Awards

  • Roger Feinstein Award: This Award is given to a graduating senior who has not only performed very well in the Major as a whole, but also has distinguished herself or himself in Urban Politics, Public Policy, and/or Environmental Policy. The award is a book, and the winner is acknowledged at the Honors Convocation and the Political Science Department’s Senior Dinner.
  • Richard Landry Award: This Award is given to a graduating senior who has not only performed very well in the Major as a whole, but also has distinguished himself or herself in Political Theory. The award is a book, and the winner is acknowledged at the Honors Convocation and the Political Science Department’s Senior Dinner.
  • Maurizio Vannicelli Award: This Award is given to a graduating senior who has not only performed very well in the Political Science major or the International Relations minor, but also has distinguished herself or himself in International Relations. The award is a book, and the winner is acknowledged at the Honors Convocation and the Political Science Department’s Senior Dinner.
