Meet the Team

Chris Reece serves as the President of the GSMF and helps to educate and train other students in using Bloomberg Terminal to make investment decisions. He is enrolled in the Master of Accounting program and is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma business honor society. Chris has worked as a graduate research assistant for four professors and is currently working towards the Distinction in Research designation through his master's thesis on the mispricing of accounting accruals in international markets. After graduation, Chris plans to pursue a career in business analytics.


Farshid Hosseini is a graduate student at UMass Boston specializing in finance. He is a successful entrepreneur who already has a masters degree in Marketing as well as a PhD in management, specializing in business policy. Prior to starting his current masters at UMass, he was the Chief Marketing Officer at KIN advertising agency in Iran. Additionally, he has more than eight years of professional experience in business consulting, particularly in strategic development and growth. Farshid has started and developed three successful small businesses while working as a consultant between 2002 and 2010. Additionally, Farshid has teaching experience in higher education, having taught courses in Strategic Management and Marketing Management at the University of Tehran and Sharif University of Technology as an adjunct professor between 2003 and 2011. Currently he is working on some creative investment ideas in developed countries like the USA.


Anand V Master is a full-time MBA student at the University of Massachusetts Boston specializing in the fields of finance and accounting. Currently, he works as a graduate assistant in the College of Management, performing equity research and developing a standard operating manual for UMass Boston's Bloomberg system. He has three years of work experience at J.P. Morgan, India in the Asset Reconciliation (TSS) and Investment Fund Clearance departments (WSS) and has also worked as an assistant manager in his family owned business. 


Bjoern P Stengel is an MBA student at UMass Boston’s College of Management, specializing in Finance. He holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and was an exchange student at UMass Boston’s McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies in 2010, as a scholarship holder of the Hessen-Massachusetts state program. Bjoern is a nominee for the College of Management’s highly selective Master’s Thesis Program (MTO) and member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. Before returning to UMass Boston in January 2014, he conducted political risk assessment for the asset management unit of a major German insurance company.


Kevin Perniciaro is a graduate student from Louisiana at the University of Massachusetts Boston pursuing his MSF. After graduating this December, Kevin plans to complete the CFA and CMT programs to further his knowledge in the investment management field and begin his career as a financial analyst. Kevin enjoys all aspects of investing, especially equity valuation, venture capitalism, and asset management. He has plans to join an investment management firm, with the aspiration to learn as much as possible and become a senior partner.


Nikos Panagiotakopoulos is a graduate student at the University of Massachusetts Boston, majoring in finance. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Massachusetts Boston and achieved the honor of Magna Cum Laude while working full-time in his family’s restaurant business. Nikos is an honorable member of the professional fraternity “ΔΣΠ” (Delta Sigma Pi); an elite organization that offers numerous networking events and many more festivities.


Sandeep Gummadi is an MS Finance candidate at UMass Boston’s College of Management, and also the current SERC-Biogen Idec Fellow in applied sustainability research. He carries with him more than 6 years of work experience in the financial services industry and has special interest in ‘Sustainability Investing’. Prior to joining UMass Boston, Sandeep was a Senior Associate in the ESG Research business at MSCI (formerly Morgan Stanley Capital International) where he has led and developed several ESG research teams and projects. Prior to working at MSCI, Sandeep worked in business research and consulting at Aranca, where he executed more than 40 assignments and worked with clients across North America, the Middle-East, and Europe. Sandeep completed his Bachelors in Engineering from BITS-Pilani in India.


Stefano Maffina is a Beta Gamma Sigma, multilingual MBA candidate at UMass Boston, specializing in Finance. He has maintained a 4.0 GPA while working part-time and performing academic research both as a graduate assistant in accounting, marketing and statistics, and for his Master's Thesis on economic inequality. Prior to attending UMass Boston, he worked as an intern for a multinational B2B chemical company. He also holds a BA and an MA in Foreign Languages and Literature from the University of Verona, where he graduated with honors. Stefano has also written a book entitled The Role of Jack Kerouac’s Identity in the Development of his Poetics, which was published in 2012.


Svetlozar (Svet) Miloshev is a driven MBA student at the University of Massachusetts Boston. He represents Delta Sigma Pi (America’s foremost business fraternity) and the Golden Key International Honour Society. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor's in management from UMass Boston. Svet has spent a semester abroad on an International Student Exchange Program at the John Molson School of Business in Montreal, one of Canada’s top business schools. He is a recipient of scholarships for academic excellence and has achieved many academic and professional awards. He works as a Department Head at a luxury hotel in Boston.


Vivian (Yue) Wang is an MBA student at UMass Boston, specializing in finance. Originally from China, Vivian started attending UMass Boston in 2007 as an undergraduate international student, graduating in May 2012. In addition to her studies, she works on campus full-time as a business manager in the Office of Global Programs. During her time as an undergraduate, Vivian was an officer in the UMass Boston SMF, performing market analysis and technical evaluation of stocks.
