Competency Testing

Students and Instructor at the Center for Clinical Education and Research

Cognitive and psychomotor skills are essential for safe patient care. Testing students’ competency level in a sampling of the procedures required for clinical practice provide the clinical faculty and the students with crucial information about their skill level and ability to perform these procedures on live patients in the clinical setting. Students receive constructive feedback and if necessary are referred to either open lab or clinical tutoring in order to improve their ability and support their success in the program.
