The Department of Exercise and Health Sciences offers three areas of specialization leading to high demand careers in the health sciences industry. Health Sciences provides students with the pre-professional foundation for graduate study in the areas of physical and occupational therapy and nutrition. The Fitness Instruction and Management concentration can lead to careers in workplace fitness, health center management and sports performance. In addition, students are prepared to work in the area of pediatric exercise where graduates can make a substantive impact in the area of childhood obesity. Students in Exercise Science will be ready to pursue careers in obesity and weight management, exercise and aging as well as cardiac rehabilitation and exercise research.
