Dr. Fawcett is recognized internationally for her meta-theoretical work in nursing. Dr. Fawcett received an honorary Doctor of Science degree from Université Laval in Quebec, Canada, in 2012. Dr. Fawcett and an international team of colleagues have been conducting a Roy Adaptation Model-based program of research focused on adaptation to life events for more than 30 years. She and her colleagues have published more than 100 journal articles and a book about their research. She has authored several texts focused on conceptual models of nursing and nursing theories.
