Dr. Shi’s current research interest focuses on the association between lifestyle factors such as diet and physical activity, and cardiometabolic risk. She is the PI for a randomized controlled trial of soy supple- mentation during pregnancy to improve lipid and glucose metabolism. She also provides statistical consulting services for the NHLBI and NIA funded projects. Dr Shi’s previous research covered a variety of maternal and child health topics including reduction of maternal and child mortality in developing countries, health service utilization, prevention of suicidal behavior of women of child-bearing age, and child growth and nutrition.
