Dr. Shi’s current research interest focuses on the association between lifestyle factors and cardiometabolic risk.  She has led several data analysis projects on dietary, physical activity and other lifestyle factors related to cardiometabolic risks. Dr. Shi has served as statistician in several NIH-funded research projects. She currently serves in the Survey and Statistical Methods Core for the UMass Boston/Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center Partnership Program NIH U54 grant. She also provides statistical consulting service for the NHLBI-funded program “Recipient Epidemiology and Donor Evaluation Study—III (REDS III)."  Dr Shi’s previous research has covered a variety of maternal and child health topics including reduction of maternal and child mortality in developing countries, health service utilization, prevention of suicidal behavior in women of child-bearing age, and child growth and nutrition. She was the Principal Investigator for a randomized controlled trial on infant feeding in China.
