Sheryl LaCoursiere’s major postdoctoral work includes the Breast Cancer Internet Information and Support Study (BCIIS) at the Yale School of Nursing, and Hypertensive Elderly Veterans with and without Dementia (HE-VET) at the Yale School of Medicine and Veterans Administration, and Pediatric Preparedness of Emergency Departments in Connecticut (PPED-CT) at the Yale School of Medicine and Yale-New Haven Hospital. She has developed a Theory of Online Social Support, which is being used internationally, as well as the Attitudes Toward Online Healthcare (ATOHC) scale, which has been studied with a number of chronic conditions. She serves as a WOC researcher for the Veterans Administration, the Education Committee of the Connecticut Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Society, and on the Board of Directors for the Waterbury, CT APRN/PA Professional Practice Society. She is also a member of the Central Naugatuck Valley Senior Service Network (CNVSSN) in Connecticut. Dr. LaCoursiere is also a meeting coordinator for the Yale Complementary and Alternative Medicine group.
