Dr. Aronowitz’s overarching goal as a scholar and researcher is to advance the science of sustainable, evidenced-based care for sexual health promotion, and she has authored several publications in this area.   To date, she has studied mother-daughter relationships [African-American & Palestinian women], healthcare providers and their clients [homeless youth, children at risk for human trafficking, incarcerated individuals], peer to peer advocacy [college student peer Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Hepatitis C (HCV), and substance misuse intervention, PrEP for at-risk populations, debunking of deeply held myths about sexuality and gender roles. Her goal is primary prevention of HIV, Human Papilloma Virus [HPV], Hepatitis B Virus [HBV], and Hepatitis C Virus [HCV] infections in high-risk populations in the United States [college students and HPV prevention] and sub Saharan Africa [particularly in Malawi] to prevent cancers that are caused by these infections. She is also an experienced clinician trained in colposcopy, for cervical cancer screening.
