Academics

Beyond the Classroom

CNHS has a number of student-centered community outreach, study abroad and innovative academic offerings. The college has collaborations with nursing programs in Glasgow Scotland, Korea, China and Kenya. Our students have been involved in relief efforts in Haiti and Katrina-ravaged Louisiana. Even online students have the opportunity to participate in service learning.

Affiliations with America's top health care agencies allows CNHS to offer unrivaled internships and preceptorship in hospitals such as the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH), Children's Hospital of Boston (CHB) and Dana Farber. These offerings are complemented by Dedicated Education Units at MGH, BWH, CH and Caritas Good Samaritan, where the baccalaureate prepared nursing staff serve as clinical faculty to UMass Boston undergraduate nursing students in the Traditional Option. Students in the Accelerated Option are part of a unique intra-professional learning experience with medical students at Cambridge Health Alliance Hospitals.
