Prerequisites

Undergraduate applicants that apply through Undergraduate Admissions are not required to complete college level courses prior to applying. However, applicants might consider taking the following courses while applying.

  1. Eng I, II – 3 credits for each course at UMass Boston or transfer courses allowed
  2. Chemistry - 4 credits at UMass Boston or transfer courses allowed
  3. General Bio – 4 credits at UMass Boston or transfer courses allowed
  4. Statistics – 3 credits at UMass Boston or transfer courses allowed
  5. Intro to Sociology or Psychology – 3 credits at UMass Boston or transfer courses allowed
  6. A & P, I and II – 4 credits at UMass Boston or transfer courses allowed
  7. Microbiology - 4 credits at UMass Boston or transfer courses allowed
  8. Human Growth & Development - 3 credits; you may take this course from other universities, a course such as Developmental Psychology MUST cover the life span in order to transfer and meet the requirements of NU230 at UMass Boston. Please note - you cannot register for course NU230 at UMass Boston prior to being admitted to the CNHS Nursing BS program.
  9. Nutrition - 3 credits at UMass Boston or transfer courses allowed.
