Primary Care Dermatology I

Description:
Course content will be based on the Dermatology Nurse Practitioner Core Curriculum established by the Dermatology Nurses Association, 2011. Students will develop skills in critical thinking and clinical reasoning in the application of theory and research to the practice of dermatology. Assessment, diagnostic, therapeutic, and health teaching strategies are applied to a continuum of health promotion/illness problems with a focus on speciality care of the medical dermatology patient across the lifespan. Seminars are grounded in learning the application of the theory and research to the domains of practice of the adult/gerontological or family nurse practitioner who interfaces with a large cohort of dermatology patients, or is interested in dermatology specialization.
