Research & Publications

Professor Clemens leads a discussion with summer internship students

Faculty at the College of Public and Community Service engage in a wide variety of research and publications.  That variety is reflected in the faculty biographies

Research is guided by several principles:

  1. Research with a social justice orientation
  2. Research designed to broaden and foster a greater understanding about urban issues and dynamics impacting urban life
  3. Research designed to make a difference

The college, in collaboration with NERCHE (New England Resource Center for Higher Education) and faculty from other colleges on the UMass Boston campus, also supports and views civic and community engaged research as comparable to traditional forms of research.
