Faculty & Staff

The faculty of the School for the Environment are integrated across the breadth of those disciplines engaged with the most pressing issues facing built-natural-human systems. Here you will find information about our faculty, their research interests, and expertise. Whether you are a first year undergraduate looking for some research experience, a member of the press seeking expertise for a story, or a member of the community looking for someone to discuss an issue of environmental and community concern, we encourage you to contact the faculty directly.

The boundaries of our School are porous, allowing faculty to leverage the breadth of their expertise as needed to tackle problems like climate change and sea level rise, marine aquaculture, emerging contaminants, sustainable community and economic development and more.  As a result our faculty are tiered to reflect the level of their engagement within the School's research, teaching, and outreach programs.

Core faculty are those whose tenure resides in part or in full within the School for the Environment.

Affiliate faculty are those whose tenure resides in another unit on campus but who contribute to the research, teaching, and service mission of the School.

Research faculty are those who are members of the university community or one of our partner organizations who contribute to our research mission and undergraduate and graduate academic programs.
