Immigration and Visas

The International Student and Scholar Office (ISSO) will assist you in all matters regarding immigration. On their website, you will find information on:

Academics

As a UMass Boston exchange student, you are eligible to take any classes in any department with the exception of CAPS (continuing education courses). You will submit your course choices to Michael.Mahan@umb.edu who will email you after your acceptance, and in general course registration for exchange students takes place a few weeks prior to the start of the semester.

To browse courses available, go to the Course Catalog. Please be sure you have the proper prerequisites (if applicable) for courses you wish to take. This will speed up the enrollment process.

Also see the Academic Calendar for semester dates and campus closures.

Global Ambassadors' "Buddy" Program

Our office has selected outstanding students from UMass Boston to work in our office as Global Ambassadors. The students selected for this role in our office will be planning and organizing events on and off-campus for exchange students to learn about Boston, meet UMass Boston students, and will work to give our exchange students the best experience they can while visiting our city.
