Frederick Douglass Global Fellowship: CIEE and the University of Pennsylvania have partnered in an effort to increase study abroad opportunities to the most financial challenged students from Minority Serving Institutions. Each cohort of 10 students will take part in a summer study abroad program designed to enhance their leadership and intercultural skills. Applications are open for the 2017-2018 cohort, who will travel to Cape Town, South Africa in summer 2018 for a credit-earning study abroad program on Intercultural Communication and Leadership. Scholarship funds will cover 100 percent of program fees and travel costs for a cohort of 10 students from MSIs. Last year's cohort was selected to travel to London, England in summer 2017, and a future cohort will have the opportunity to study abroad in Seoul, South Korea during summer 2019. There are numerous attractive and affordable opportunities for UMass Boston students to study abroad at over 30 programs in 17 countries in Asia, Europe, Middle East, South and North America, Australia, and Africa. Students participating in reciprocal exchange programs at a partner university, pay UMass Boston tuition and fees to attend the host institution abroad. Students can also study abroad worldwide with the approved study abroad providers. We look forward assisting you!
