Before joining the United Nations, Ms. Mendez was managing director and founding partner of the Institute for Dispute Resolution Ltd., a private firm in Trinidad and Tobago. In this role, she was involved in mediating workplace issues, cases related to family and divorce, as well as community, commercial and court-referred disputes.

Conflict Resolution Alum Sarah Gyorog is Director of the Restorative Justice Programming at the Center for Women in Transition in St. Louis, Missouri.  She works with women who are returning to the community from prison and jail, educating them on Restorative Justice and Restorative Practices.  Sarah is working towards a stronger restorative justice movement in St. Louis and collaborates with a small coalition of people committed to a more restorative response to the criminal justice system and in other areas including schools.  She also volunteers as a mediator in a community mediation program.

International Relations Alum Daniel Zaleznik is Adviser to the Permanent Mission of Nauru to the United Nations in their capacity as Chair of the Pacific Small Island Developing States (PSIDS) Group. Daniel supports the work of the Pacific in multilateral negotiations related to sustainable development, oceans and climate change at United Nations Headquarters in New York. His work has included helping to coordinate Pacific positions for the 2030 Agenda, the Addis Ababa Action Agenda, and a new treaty for protection of biodiversity on the high-seas.

Conflict Resolution Alum David D’Alessandro works for the Department of Conflict Resolution and Student Conduct Services at Colorado State University as a Conflict Resolution Coordinator. He helps students navigate complicated situations, difficult conversations, and with conflict coaching.  He also facilitates conflict management training, social justice workshops, retreats, and works with men to understand masculinity’s role in - and how to end - men’s violence against women. 

International Relations Alum, Aung Tun, works for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) as a national governance expert. Alum Jovonte Santos is Mediator/Trainer at MCADConflict Resolution Alum Jovonte Santos is a Mediator/Trainer for the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD) which is state’s chief civil rights agency charged with the authority to investigate, prosecute, adjudicate and resolve cases of discrimination.  Santos also teaches Conflict Resolution & Negotiations at Lasell College.

Conflict Resolution Alum Ify Malo  is a clean energy advocate and entrepreneur, promoting Energy Access and addressing Energy Poverty using Renewable Energy. She is co-founder of Clean Tech Hub and Energy Innovation Center in Nigeria which is an incubator for new ideas on Renewable Energy and the ‘Power For All’ campaign which focuses on Decentralized and Distributed Renewables as the quickest way of achieving Energy access in Nigeria. She was recipient of the prestigious Eisenhower Fellowship in 2015 . Read more

He specializes in sports related conflict management building on a history of contexts that have included business-to-business, organizational change, energy, environmental, real estate and housing, family, and gang-related conflict and disputes.
