Lillian Glickman serves as co-director of the Management of Aging Services Masters and Certificate Programs. She is the chair of the admissions committee, student advisor, and provides program review and analysis.
Glickman has over thirty-five years experience in gerontology and with the Massachusetts aging network. From 1998 until January 2003, she served as secretary of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs, a cabinet-level agency that administers a wide range of community-based services for elders. Prior to that, she served as assistant secretary for nine years during two separate time periods. Among her accomplishments as secretary were developing and implementing Prescription Advantage, the first state-sponsored insurance-based prescription drug program in the country, providing more intensive home care services for frail elders, and developing the Supportive Housing Program to provide assisted living-like services to elders in public housing.
Glickman previously served as executive director of two Governor's Commissions and worked both in academia and in the private sector. She has published articles on aging in journals such as Journal of Community Health, Home Health Care Services Quarterly, and Journal of the American Geriatrics Society.
