Admission Requirements

for the Gerontology PhD Program at UMass Boston

To apply to the PhD Program, students must submit:

  1. Application fee
  2. Completed graduate application form
  3. Official transcripts including evidence of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution demonstrating a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.00 or better
  4. Official GRE Test score report scores (verbal and quantitative)
    Our institutional code is 3924 when you register for the exam
  5. Three letters of recommendation

  6. Personal statement
  7. Official TOEFL or IELTS Test Scores Report, if applicable

  • Review of applications will begin February 1. Those wishing to be considered for funding should submit their application by this date. Applications may be submitted through the June 1 deadline
  • Priority is given to students seeking full-time status
