Search Safely - Avoid Job Posting Scams

  • Never give out credit card or bank information
  • Do not transfer money for another party in exchange for payment
  • Don't respond to job ads that seem "too good to be true"

See Ways to Identify and Protect Yourself from Job Posting Scams for a list of common red flags you need to know.

Improve your résumé and interviewing skills

Statistics show that employers spend less than 10 seconds scanning a résumé, so the format and style should showcase your most important credentials at a glance.  Check out the Career Services Building an Effective Career Ready Resume handbook for useful resume-writing tips and examples.

Once you land the interview making a good impression takes poise, skill, and know-how. Let us help you put your best foot forward.

Call Career Services (617.287.5519) or email us (careers@umb.edu) to make an appointment with a career specialist for advice and coaching on résumé, cover letter, and interview preparation.
