Academics

Eligibility for Services

Any student who is enrolled in one or more courses at UMass Boston may become eligible for academic accommodations due to a disability that affects academic achievement.

Students become eligible based on information gathered during the initial meeting with a Coordinator. During an interactive process with the student, the Coordinator will review past educational experiences and accommodations and disability documentation to determine eligibility.

If a student is eligible and requests accommodations, the Coordinator will review each syllabus with the student to identify specific course accommodations. Throughout the semester, the Coordinator will facilitate collaboration between the student and the instructor to ensure the accommodations are reasonable and appropriate.
